Fatima’s Grill, the social media giant that likes to mix its Lebanese-Mexican fusion with Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, is expanding to a second location in Bell, located at 4410 Gage Ave, Unit B.
The fusion restaurant first opened as a taco stand in 2016 in the city of Downey. Owner Ali Elreda named the restaurant after his daughter, who suggested that it include Flamin’ Hot Cheetos within its entrees. Elreda took her advice and quickly gained attention on social media for its delectable dishes, such as the quesabirria topped with Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Fatima’s Grill has over a quarter-million followers on Instagram.
Now, Elreda is ready to expand to a second location in Bell by January 2022, a representative tells What Now Los Angeles. The new restaurant has a lot to offer for its loyal customers, including a much smaller menu that includes only the top 10 menu items from the original location. On top of that, the restaurant promises faster delivery times and some very special guests. These special guests, such as Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, will be at the restaurant’s grand opening and occasionally on their social media.
Elreda first started cooking when he was working in the kitchen at the Federal Correctional Institution. Once he was released, he turned his life around and opened a taco stand to replicate some of the dishes he made while in prison. Since then, his menu has developed into various burritos, tacos, quesadillas, wraps, and fries, most of which have Flamin’ Hot Cheetos on top. Last summer, a viral TikTok video led hundreds of people to the restaurant, tempting Elreda to close the restaurant entirely. Thankfully for all of us, the video only made the restaurant more popular, enough to open a second location.
