A new restaurant called Hacienda Tapatio is set to make its debut in Calabasas, located at 4505 Las Virgenes Road.
The new restaurant will move into the former home of La Paz Mexican Seafood, according to a recent liquor license application. La Paz had been a staple in Calabasas for decades, known for its Yucatan-style seafood and extensive tequila selection. The restaurant offered a variety of Mexican and seafood dishes, including shrimp cocktails, molcajetes, and a popular Sunday brunch with live mariachi music. The restaurant closed due to the owner’s retirement. Now, Hacienda Tapatio will take its place. It’s unknown when this new concept is expected to open.
While additional details regarding Hacienda Tapatio are unclear, a sign on one door indicates a connection to Taqueria El Tapatio #1, according to ConejoValleyGuide. If there is a connection, customers can expect delicious Mexican cuisine made with high-quality ingredients. Taqueria El Tapatio #1 serves a variety of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, seafood dishes like shrimp cocktails and tostadas, as well as combo plates that come with rice and beans. Protein options include carne asada, carnitas, al pastor, chicken, and shrimp.
Hacienda Tapatio will be opening at the Malibu Canyon Office Park in Calabasas, a location known for its high accessibility via the 101 Freeway. The office park is adjacent to Malibu Canyon Plaza, home to businesses like Jack in the Box, Subway, and UPS Store, which will help bring in additional foot traffic. Nearby corporate offices, including Harbor Freight Tools and The Cheesecake Factory headquarters, will also provide a steady customer base. The area is also close to Calabasas High School and several hotels, making this an excellent location for the new restaurant.
