Holy Basil, a local eatery serving exceptional Thai food, is preparing to open a new location in Santa Monica at 2828 Santa Monica Blvd.

The company’s third location is set to move into the ground floor of The Charlie, a new development that features 50 luxury residential units. A representative from the company tells What Now Media Group that Chef Wedchayan “Deau” Arpapornnopparat and Tongkamal “Joy” Yuon are getting ready to open the new Holy Basil location in late February or early March 2025, offering their signature style of Thai food to the Westside.

This is a massive accomplishment for the co-owners, who are having an incredible year after opening their first full-service location in Atwater Village at the beginning of 2024. This location allows the husband-and-wife duo, Bangkok natives, to serve street food-inspired cooking with a multicultural flare. The additional space has allowed them to flex their creative muscles and introduce more items to the menu.

The new Santa Monica location isn’t the only project Arpapornnopparat and Yuon are working on, according to Resy. The two business owners are also in the process of opening a tasting menu restaurant in Melrose Hill, although additional details regarding that concept have yet to be shared. What is known is that these two entrepreneurs are hoping to slowly take over Los Angeles with delicious Thai food and a menu that is constantly evolving.
