HomeState, a home away from home for breakfast tacos in Los Angeles, will open their fourth location this Spring at 1992 Lincoln Ave. in Pasadena, the former location of the now-closed Lincoln cafe and pastry shop.
When Briana Valdez moved from Texas to L.A. in 2000, she missed the convenient, wholesome familiarity of breakfast tacos. Sold at gas stations, in food trucks, mom and pop restaurants and fast-food chains, breakfast tacos are in such abundance in Austin that they are often just called “tacos.” She opened the first HomeState location on Hollywood Boulevard to fill the void in her heart — and her stomach — and to bring the staple she loved to the West Coast.
Since their first location opened in 2013, two more HomeState eateries have sprung up in Playa Vista and Highland Park. Plans for a HomeState location in Orange County were dashed earlier this year due to COVID-19.
