Jersey Mike’s, one of the largest sandwich chains in the country, is making its debut in Norwalk, located at 12623 Norwalk Blvd.

Although there are over 2,000 locations across the nation, with dozens in Los Angeles County, not a single one is in Norwalk. That’s about to change. Their newest 1,192 square-foot location is making its debut by the first quarter of 2022, a representative of the company tells What Now Los Angeles. This location will be franchised by Alvaro Garcia, who owns over 40 locations throughout Southern California. Garcia has signed a 10-year lease agreement for this location.

Garcia continues to add onto his impressive resume, one that Jersey Mike’s considers “proof of the American Dream.” The franchisee immigrated to the United States from Nicaragua back in 1987 and could only say “hello” in English. In 2011, he became a franchisee and committed to owning 100 Jersey Mike’s sub shops in California and Hawaii. Earlier this year, Garcia opened his third Maui location, adding to his ever-expanding list of locations.

When his newest location opens on Norwalk Blvd., customers can expect to find all the favorites found in their stores across the country. Another aspect to consider is the community outreach Garcia will likely create with this new location. Jersey Mike’s, and Garcia especially, have always tried to support or give back to the community in one way or another. Earlier this year, Garcia’s Jersey Mike’s became an appreciation sponsor for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s 2021 Summer Golf Classic.

“At Jersey Mike’s, our fundraising partnerships create a layer of sustainability for schools, youth sports leagues, and other nonprofits in and around our city,” Garcia said back in 2018 when he opened the first Claremont location. “These partnerships allow us to truly become members of our community by allowing us to contribute to the success of our youth and our city. Our crew, city officials, and residents have a high level of respect for us for that reason. We honestly feel that we are changing the world one sub at a time.”
