Kalaveras, a vibrant Mexican restaurant chain that brings the festive spirit of Día de los Muertos to life, is getting ready to open a new location in Northridge at 19530 Nordhoff St.
The company’s newest location is set to move into the former home of Tropical Buffet & Grill, according to WhatsNewSFV. It’s unclear exactly when this location will open, but when it does, customers can expect a lively atmosphere, flavorful cuisine, and an extensive selection of drinks. Founded in Bellflower, California, in 2016 by brothers José and Francisco Brito, Kalaveras has expanded to nearly two dozen locations across Southern California, including cities like Los Angeles, Long Beach, Newport Beach, and Temecula.
Kalaveras offers a menu featuring modern takes on traditional Mexican and Latin American dishes, including Quesa Birria Tacos, Tacos Gobernador, and Molcajete. The restaurant offers a variety of other options, including enchiladas, fajitas, and salads. Its drink menu includes over 60 tequilas and mezcals, along with cocktails like margaritas, mojitos, and micheladas. Daily specials include Margarita Monday, Taco Tuesday, Mezcal Wednesday, and Thirsty Thursday. Kalaveras also hosts live music events such as Banda Nights.
“When you walk into the doors of any of our locations, you will be immediately immersed in the sounds, sights, and aromas of a celebration!” according to the company’s website. “You will hear everything from new Latin Pop, Reggaeton hits, classic cumbias, regional Mexican hits, and more to get you in the party atmosphere. You will see our walls adorned with the vibrant colors of El Dia de Los Muertos, as well as beautifully garnished cocktails, and the smells of mouthwatering dishes passing by.”
