Local Mexican brand La Nena Cantina is planning to add another location to its Los Angeles footprint this summer. It will open a 5,000-square-foot restaurant at 141 S. Grand Ave. in Downtown Los Angeles, owner Vicente Del Rio told What Now Los Angeles. Del Rio said that they are awaiting their liquor license and hope to open in about four to five weeks.

This location will mark the third for the brand, which launched in 2025 with locations in Malibu and Hollywood.

“We’re always looking for new opportunities,” Del Rio said. “Downtown Los Angeles is a great area to open a new Mexican concept like La Nena Cantina. We think it’s going to be great for the community and we’re looking forward to being part of Downtown Los Angeles.”

The DTLA location will feature new menu items and specialty drinks, according to Del Rio. The brand’s current menu features salads, soups, ceviches, tacos, fajitas, moles and seafood. The drink menu features margaritas, mezcal-based drinks and mocktails.

Del Rio said they have plans to continue to grow strategically in Los Angeles. Previously, Del Rio served as CEO of Frimex Hospitality Group, which is behind Frida Restaurants, Frida Tacos and Cantina Frida.
