Phanny’s, a Redondo Beach-based eatery serving the South Bay since 1982, is getting ready to expand to a new location in El Segundo at 150 Pacific Coast Highway.

The company’s second location will open in a vacant 2,200-square-foot space in the North Village Shopping Center, according to Toddrickallen. Other tenants in this shopping center include Offset Coffee House, H&R Block, Prime Pizza, and Just Massage. The exact opening date for Phanny’s is unknown, considering the company is in the permitting process but hopes to open before the end of the year, offering “The South Bay’s Best Breakfast Burrito.”

This is a massive accomplishment for owner Andy Dispun, whose family has owned Phanny’s since 1982. The family-owned business started by offering a variety of dishes, ranging from burgers and gyros to coney-style hot dogs. Eventually, the family settled in its specialty: breakfast burritos. Now that the company has survived the pandemic, during which no such expansion plans exist, Dispun is ready to expand his family’s business into El Segundo.

This will be an excellent location for Phanny’s, considering it will sit between The Lake at El Segundo and LAX. The small in-line shopping center at PCH and El Segundo Boulevard has a traffic count of 65,000 cars daily, giving it plenty of visibility for commuters. The shopping center also has unreserved 110-car parking spaces, an 11:1 ratio unheard of in the South Bay for a property like this. While it only took over four decades for Phanny’s to finally expand, this will be worth the wait.
