Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, a fast-food restaurant chain known for its simple menu focused almost entirely on chicken finger meals, is getting ready to open a new location in Hollywood at 5920 W Sunset Blvd.
The company’s newest location is set to move into the former home of Arby’s, and, more recently, Prince Street Pizza, according to documentation submitted to the Los Angeles Planning Department. It’s unclear when this Raising Cane’s location is expected to open, but customers can expect the chain’s signature chicken fingers, served with crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast, coleslaw, and the brand’s iconic Cane’s Sauce.
The former Arby’s restaurant on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood has closed after more than five decades, citing rising operational costs, including higher food prices and California’s new minimum wage law. The site, once a local landmark known for its neon cowboy hat sign, was taken over by Prince Street Pizza, which has since closed. While the restaurant has changed, the iconic neon sign remains, continuing to serve as a familiar fixture along the busy boulevard. Now, with Raising Cane’s coming in, it appears this iconic fixture may be on its way out.
The project includes adding 205 square feet to the building and a 1,627-square-foot covered outdoor dining area, according to plans submitted to the Los Angeles City Planning Department. The owner is also asking to keep the drive-through, extend business hours, make changes to landscaping and signs, and adjust how the drive-through works. The property is already zoned for commercial use and is part of several city programs and redevelopment areas.
At a public hearing in February 2025, some groups supported the plan, including the local neighborhood council and the Los Angeles Department of Transportation. However, nearby business owners raised concerns about losing parking and access to their properties. City staff said they are likely to approve the project but will wait one week for more comments and updated plans before making a final decision.
