Denver-based Smashburger, so-named for their process of squashing a ball of ground angus beef with a metal hand press while it is seared on a seasoned grill, appears to be opening new locations in Beverly Hills and the Manhattan Village shopping complex.
According to pending permits filed with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control on January 22, the restaurants are slated for 100 N Cienega Blvd. and 3026 N Sepulveda Blvd. SPC G-100.
The chain’s extensive menu includes a number of beef burgers, turkey burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, black bean burgers, milkshakes, salads and, per their pending liquor permits, alcoholic beverages.
Since its inception in 2007, Smashburger has opened over 200 restaurants in 34 states, two Canadian provinces and seven sites in the United Kingdom. These two new locations will bring the number of Smashburgers in California up to a total of 8.
