K2 Restaurants, a restaurant and hospitality group, is expanding its SocialEats food hall from its hub in Santa Monica to Hollywood. An update on the second location was announced via press release Friday. K2 owner John Kolaski is debuting the flagship dining operation, at 1542 N Cahuenga Blvd in Hollywood, in the midst of the pandemic, but with a strategy to ensure utmost safety, according to the release.
“We developed SocialEats to be the next generation food hall, capable of incubating new concepts and streamlining operations under a single collaborative strategy, that could sustain itself and pave the way for rapid expansion,” said Kolaski in the press release. “This year has presented unprecedented challenges for the restaurant industry. With the launch of our new SocialEats Good Eats, Delivered Program we intend to meet those challenges while expanding SocialEats and our restaurant concepts to new markets within the city of Los Angeles, and with more efficiency and value to our customers.”
Debuting in tangent with the new Hollywood outpost, the company is taking it a step further by launching its SocialEats Good Eats, Delivered Program, which involves entirely electric, zero-emissions BMW i3 cars that deliver free within five miles of a SocialEats location. Customers could then be able to order from each available vendor from a single order all online (similar to a program that Grand Central Market launched this week in DTLA).
Currently, there are six planned restaurants to choose from in the Hollywood SocialEats: Pop!s Burgers & Shakes, Azule Taqueria, Supertoro, Street Noods, Voltaggio STRFSH, and a currently nameless seafood restaurant.
Hollywood’s SocialEats will likely open up in early fall 2020. There are also plans for a location in Mid-Wilshire along the Miracle Mile along with a Las Vegas location in 2021.
