Local Thai brand Sticky Rice has a new location in development. It revealed in a recent social media announcement that it will be opening a new location at 523 Rose Ave.
David Tewasart launched Sticky Rice at Grand Central Market in Downtown LA in 2013, and he later partnered with Bryan Sharafkhah to continue to build the brand. The Venice location will mark the fifth for the brand, joining existing spots at Grand Central Market, in Echo Park, in Highland Park and along West Third Street.
Sticky Rice pitches itself as “your friendly neighborhood Thai kitchen” on its website.
“From lunchtime in Grand Central Market to late nights in Echo Park, every Sticky Rice location brings a little something special to the block — but the heart stays the same: good food, good people and that ‘you’ve gotta try this’ kind of energy,” the website states.
Sticky Rice offers menu items including sticky wings served in umami sauce, various Thai noodle dishes, curries, chicken satay, and crying tiger.
