The Boiling Crab is Making its Way to Torrance

Popular boiled-in-bag Cajun restaurant The Boiling Crab is looking to expand to a new location in Torrance, located at 22901 Hawthorne Blvd.

The new restaurant will move into the former home of Mikuni Seafood & Sushi Buffet at an unknown date. Currently, the company has 11 Southern California locations, with restaurants in at least seven Los Angeles neighborhoods. The fast-growing seafood restaurant also has four locations in Northern California and sites in Texas, Florida, Nevada, Massachusetts, Hawaii, and Washington D.C., plus international sites in Shanghai and Melbourne. The new location will bring Cajun into a shopping mall filled with a plethora of Asian eateries.

The Boiling Crab began in a little Southeastern Texas town called Seadrift. With a population of just 2000, Seadrift was home to Sinh Nguyen and his family of crabbers and fishermen. They labored in their boats year-round, catching oysters, crab, and shrimp for the seafood industry. With their flair for having a good time, warm hospitality, and passion for excellent seafood, Nguyen and his wife Dada Ngo opened the first Boiling Crab in 2004 in Garden Grove.

When the new Torrance location opens, guests can expect the same delicious seafood found at all locations worldwide. The first step of ordering at this restaurant is to choose your catch with 11 different options ranging from king crab legs to clams and oysters. Next, you add some sauce like rajun cajun or lemon pepper. Then, for some extra flavors, you can add some spices if you’d like. To top it off, the restaurant has over a dozen different extras and condiments to add to the finished product, which is served in the bag it was boiled in.
