Urbanspace, a New York City food and retail hall with local and national vendors, is making its way to Downtown Los Angeles, located at 110 E. 9th St.

This new 15,000 square-foot space will eventually host 19 tenants before expanding to include rooftop decks, a full-service standalone restaurant, and more. A representative from the company tells What Now Los Angeles Urbanspace has yet to release any information regarding which restaurants and retailers would make this their new home. Chief Operating Officer Michael McGrath hopes to open the new food hall within the redesigned California Market Center by late 2022.

The company has recently pushed to open models similar to their New York City location in Washington D.C. and Chicago. Another feature the Los Angeles location will come with is a plaza for open-air public events. The company prides itself in making connections with the community and taking risks to foster inclusivity. When the food hall opens next year, customers can expect a variety of local and national vendors in the retail and restaurant industry.

“Downtown Los Angeles is one of the most vibrant parts of the city, and we couldn’t be happier to open our first Urbanspace Los Angeles location at the California Market Center,” Urbanspace President Eldon Scott said in a press release. “Supporting entrepreneurship is a core tenant of our brand and Los Angeles is an undeniable hub for creativity. It’s a perfect match, and we can’t wait to develop this community gathering place alongside Brookfield.”
