A local franchisee for fitness studio BODYROK has multiple locations in the pipeline this year. Franchise owner Anne Brandenburg, who currently operates two existing locations, shared with What Now Atlanta that she has two locations currently in construction: one at the Medley development in Johns Creek and one in Milton at Village Walk. The Milton location will open in August and the Johns Creek location will open in October.
Brandenburg also teased that there is a fifth location in the works slated to open in early 2027, with more details expected to be announced soon.
Brandenburg began to franchise with BODYROK after a career in technology sales. Over the years, she had relied on group fitness to bring her both exercise and community, and after exiting the tech space, she became interested in franchising with the brand.
“After moving to Atlanta in 2012 for a job in technology sales. I felt all the challenges of transplanting to a new city. A fundamental challenge was meeting new people and finding community. Playing volleyball in college, I had a team to celebrate wins with and lean on when times were challenging – without that, I found myself struggling,” Brandenburg shared in a message. “As a lifelong believer in the benefits of movement, I soon discovered group fitness which provided not only the mental and physical benefits of exercise, but also team and community once again. Seeing the same faces day in and out, and building relationships with instructors provided a sense of home and belonging.”
After she began her franchising journey several years ago, Brandenburg opened a studio in Roswell in September 2024 and one in Cumming last July.
“We are heavily focused on building community so whether it is your first class or your 500th you are welcomed into a space where you can show up as yourself and know you will be seen,” Brandenburg said.
BODYROK offers 45-minute hybrid Pilates classes that emphasize muscle sculpting. Class options include Sculpt & Jump, Flow, Buns & Guns, Obliques & Cheeks, Six Packs & Backs, Power Sculpt and Rok Your Body.
BODYROK launched in 2011 in San Francisco. The fitness franchise now has locations across 21 states, with a strong presence in its home state of California. Existing locations in Georgia include the studios in Cumming and Roswell as well as two more in Inman Park and Midtown.
