A Dallas-born luxury menswear brand is heading to Southern California. According to The Shoppes at Westlake Village directory, Rye 51 plans to open at the shopping center, at 30770 Russell Ranch Road.
What Now Los Angeles reached out to founder Raja Ratan, who confirmed that the opening is targeted for early November 2026.
Founded in 2003 by Ratan, a second-generation haberdasher, Rye 51 is known for its made-to-measure suiting, shirting, and tailored pieces, alongside a curated ready-to-wear selection, all delivered with a complimentary bar and the guidance of world-class clothiers, according to the brand’s website.
The brand began as a custom clothing boutique and has since grown into a full menswear brand with locations across Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Georgia.
The Westlake Village location would mark Rye 51’s first California outpost, bringing its Texas-rooted vision of modern menswear to one of the Los Angeles area’s most affluent retail destinations.
The upcoming location comes with a history that connects Rye 51 to the space. Carrier Menswear, a beloved local men’s clothing boutique that occupied the location for years, was a longtime stockist of Rye 51, carrying the brand’s products and developing a friendship between its owner, Bob Carrier, and Ratan.
When Carrier announced its closure due to retirement in August, the transition was a natural one.
“Carrier Menswear was a customer of Rye 51. We became friends with Bob Carrier, the owner, so it was a very friendly handoff of the space,” Ratan told What Now Los Angeles.
Carrier’s entire team will remain with the business, allowing the staff that built relationships with Westlake Village customers to continue serving them under the Rye 51 banner.
