The Tennessee Department of Health recently conducted a routine inspection at Hyderabad Biryani and More. Following the inspection, the restaurant received a low score of 79 due to health code violations and sanitation issues, including dirt and grease buildup throughout the kitchen and improper storage of food items.

Hyderabad Biryani and More is an Indian restaurant located in Southwind Park Cove of Memphis. According to the official inspection report, the restaurant was flagged for 18 violations, and they are as follows:
- The inspection report noted that both handwashing sinks in the kitchen lacked paper towels, and a cooking pan had been placed inside one of the sinks. The report advised the restaurant to keep the handwash sink properly equipped with supplies at all times.
- The report also found chicken and sauces being held at improper temperatures and whipping cream kept below 68°F.
- According to state guidelines, TCS foods items, including meat and cooked vegetables, are required to be kept below 41°F or above 135°F. Whipping cream must also be kept below 41°F in a cooler or on ice.

- The had visible residue buildup; the pot of sauce was kept on the floor; wiping cloths were not stored properly; and there was excessive grease buildup.
- The inspection report mentioned a pan of sauce was left uncovered on the shelf next to the microwave, and a pan of dough was stored in a trash can.
- Employees were using single-use cups to scoop spices, and utensils were stored in a bucket of water. Furthermore, grease buildup was present on the ANSIL system, on the side of the stove, on the vent hood, and on the floors under the cooking equipment.
- The restaurant’s kitchen floor was damaged in several areas, and the ceiling tiles in the kitchen area had brown stains.

Follow-up InspectionÂ

The Department of Health will conduct a reinspection at the restaurant, as it received a low score during the recent routine inspection. The compliance will be assessed during the reinspection.
The restaurant can apply for reinspection within 10 days. If the restaurant fails the reinspection, the department will suspend its health permit to operate and order it to close down.
