Downtown Memphis’s Bloom Bakery & Cafe has flipped its sign to “closed”, but fans needn’t panic. The beloved eatery is renovating but will return with even more of its delicious Asian-inspired treats alongside new dining options later this year, reports Daily Memphian.

The 1,376 square foot restaurant, located at  61 S. Second Street, will be getting upgrades that will make it closer to a traditional restaurant than the cafe it has been. Bloom opened in May of 2025 and established itself by selling “freshly baked Asian-inspired pastries, handcrafted coffee and tea, and delightful treats made with love”. After the renovations, the eatery will include rice and noodle dishes for lunch and dinner.

It is not yet clear when, precisely, Bloom will reopen its doors, however owner Yu Liu encourages customers to follow the concept’s social media account for opening updates. Its return to the Memphis dining scene is certain to be met with open arms by foodies ready to enjoy its promise that: “Every bite is crafted to brighten your day. Stop by, stay awhile, and let beautiful moments bloom!”
