As diners, it is a privilege and a thrill to watch a new concept come to fruition. An eatery of any type is often the end result of years of hard work and craft refinement; opening a restaurant is, for most chefs, quite literally a dream come true. Memphis residents will soon be able to participate in such a profound event when Chef Keonia Eaton debuts her new project, Chef Kee’s Cafe, which has been steadily making its way through the various necessary permitting processes.

Chef Eaton will be setting up shop at 4070 Saint Elmo Avenue, in a 1,000 square foot space. Details about Chef Kee’s Cafe are, so far, relatively sparse and far between, however the paperwork filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development offers diners a little hint of what’s in store. The submitted Certificate of Occupancy form states that the restaurant will be serving wings, burgers, nachos, and pasta.

Chef Kee’s Cafe was issued its sign permit on August 27, a good indicator of the project’s progress, though not a guarantee of an opening timeline. What Now Memphis will be monitoring the establishment’s progress and updating readers as information becomes available.
