Paperwork has never been more exciting for Millington donut fans. Official permits show that the neighborhood’s next Dunkin is getting close to opening, as the concept accrues approvals.

The donut giant is getting a brand new building erected at 5121 West Union Road. Once completed, Dunkin will span 1,981 square feet and will be operated by experienced franchisee Kamlesh Patel.

Dunkin’s new Millington home has been under development for quite some time and locals are certainly getting anxious to enjoy a Boston cream donut and a hot cup of coffee. However, paperwork filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development is sure to inspire hope. The organization issued Dunkin a commercial electrical permit on January 5 of this year and a sign permit on December 16 of last year. While this does not guarantee an opening timeline it does suggest that Dunkin is nearing the finish line and delicious pastries are just over the horizon.

Dunkin is a longtime fast-casual dining institution. The chain has been a heavy-hitter on the scene since its debut in 1950, winning over fans with its donuts and coffee. It has expanded to include other savory dining options and now has more than 14,000 locations worldwide.
