Farm Burger, the delicious farm-to-table restaurant, has officially closed for renovations for its site in Crosstown Concourse at 1350 Concourse Avenue Site #175.
The Georgia-based company plans to update the kitchen equipment and layout to create a more efficient space, according to Memphis Business Journal. Co-owner George Frangos tells the publication these renovations should take about 30 to 45 days. Some changes to the kitchen include new stoves, fryers, and prep items, all of which will address the restaurant’s high volume. Farm Burger, which has 11 locations throughout the South, is also updating the kitchen layout, preferring a ‘linear’ set-up rather than a square or rectangle shape, like most kitchens, allowing for better flow.
“It’s pretty typical with most of our Farm Burgers that sometime between year five and seven, we’ll do a little renovation, refresh it and freshen up everything,” Frangos tells Memphis Business Journal. “We want to refinish the bar [in Crosstown], and the tables and maybe add some little design changes out front and then change some things in the kitchen just to get us to be a little bit more efficient in the execution itself.”
Frangos and Jason Mann started the company in 2010 from Decatur to bring farm-to-table ethos to the burger industry. While Farm Burger survived the pandemic, the company is taking the time to reflect on the overall business. The Crosstown Concourse renovations aren’t the only plans for Memphis, as Farm Burger is considering adding additional Memphis-area locations.
“We’re seeing what’s worked before and what doesn’t work as much for us now in terms of locations and areas,” Frangos said. “We’re figuring out all those data points and formulating our plan for growth for the next few years.”
