A breakfast and brunch spot is officially headed to Germantown, following an earlier report by What Now Memphis.

First Watch will take over the former Chili’s Grill & Bar space at 7810 Poplar Ave., with plans to open in fall 2025. It will mark the chain’s first Memphis location, with the closest existing store located in Oxford, Mississippi.

Mackenzie Garrett, a public relations spokesperson for the brand, told What Now Memphis the restaurant will span about 5,000 square feet and include a patio and full bar, offering more than 160 seats.

“The Germantown restaurant will feature our core First Watch, which takes on an elevated approach to traditional breakfast,” Garrett said. “All dishes are made to order using fresh ingredients in a kitchen without heat lamps, microwaves or deep fryers.”

Popular menu items include avocado toast, lemon ricotta pancakes and the signature “Million Dollar Bacon”—four slices of hardwood-smoked bacon baked with brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne and a maple syrup drizzle.

They also feature a seasonal menu that “follows the position of the sun to source fresh ingredients.” Garrett said the location is expected to debut its first seasonal offerings in late 2025.

The new location is expected to bring about 30 jobs to the area and will operate under the company’s “No Night Shifts Ever” policy, allowing employees to keep their evenings free. Hiring is set to begin roughly one month before opening.

While an exact opening date has not been announced, the Germantown First Watch will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
