Sometimes the best things come in the most unexpected of places. Most diners would agree that not much eclipses a great pizza, though few would expect to find one in a shooting range. However that is precisely the reality coming for Memphis foodies, as Fox Ridge Pizza prepares to open its second location-this one in the Top Gun Firearms Center & Shooting Range.

The pizzeria will be inviting customers to dine-in or grab a pie to-go at its new 2770 Whitten Road home. According to permitting paperwork filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development, Fox Ridge Pizza will occupy 1,700 square feet and will be able to seat up to 49 customers.

An opening timeline is not currently available, however the restaurant has begun hiring servers, kitchen staff, and cooks.

Fox Ridge has one other storefront opened at 711 West Brookhaven Circle. The concept has been a Memphis institution since its founding by Bill Vest in 1979, making a second location a cause for local excitement and celebration. Lisa Seelig Gibbs bought Fox Ridge in 2014, and-as the website explains-blended tradition with her own vision: “Lisa and her team have been true to the Fox Ridge legacy, delivering hot, cheesy, mouthwatering goodness to our customers, ever since. Lisa also added some of her own home cooking to the menu, offering plate lunches Sunday-Friday. Some things will never change, like our amazing burger!”
