May 2027 promises to be a momentous time for Memphis-area fast-casual enthusiasts.

Buc-ee’s-a unique chain that offers delicious dining while also offering some of the most beloved bathrooms in America, has begun construction on a Memphis-region location, set to open next spring, reports Action News 5.

The 22860 TN-196 storefront will be located about 40 minutes outside of Memphis proper. Locals still have a considerable wait between them and Buc-ee’s. Work has only recently begun on clearing the land to erect the building. The long-anticipated location was originally intended to open in 2026 but has since been pushed to May of 2027.

This Gallaway location will be the chain’s first storefront in West Tennessee.

Buc-ee’s is a cultural phenomenon, founded in Texas in 1982. With the “cleanest restrooms in America”, the brand has developed a strong fan-following and also offers an expansive hot foods menu, certain to satisfy every weary traveler who stops in for a bite.
