A Cooper-Young hotspot temporarily closed its doors at the end of 2024, but it could be returning this spring.
On December 20, Railgarten abruptly announced its closure on social media. “Railgarten is currently closed for renovations,” shared ownership. “Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a Happy New Year!”
Martha Hample, a partner at the establishment, told The Daily Memphian that the popular hangout would be closed until at least spring. “We look forward to reopening stronger than ever in the spring and will keep the media posted,” she stated.
A sign outside of the venue at 2166 Central Ave echoed the message, and the eatery’s website is no longer working.
Since its debut in 2017, Railgarten has faced its fair share of challenges including a partial closure due to code enforcement issues and a 2-month COVID-19 closure in 2020.
Despite these hurdles, the establishment has remained a go-to spot to grab a drink, watch live music, and enjoy a diverse menu including burgers, po’boys, nachos, and chicken tenders.
Stay tuned for updates on the reopening timeline.
