A new concept is preparing to breathe fresh life into the Memphis bar scene. J Woods Sports Bar has moved steadily through the permitting process and is getting prepared to greet customers.

J Woods will be pouring out cold drinks at 103 Harbor Town Square, in the space that previously housed Harbor Town Pharmacy. Paperwork filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development pertaining to the bar states that the facility will span 1,184 square feet and will have an occupancy load of 43. Submitted permits state that J Woods will have limited food service, ensuring future patrons won’t go hungry.

J Woods received its commercial alteration permit for the storefront in May of this year and most recently was issued a commercial mechanical permit at the end of August. The steady progress suggests the sports bar is on deck for the fall opening projected on its official website. What Now Memphis has reached out to ownership for further information and will update readers as more details become available.
