Summer of 2026 is on deck to be a particularly exciting one for a beloved Memphis bakery and the locals who can’t get enough of its treats. Having outgrown its current home, Jacques Louise Bakery is getting ready to bring its delicious, gluten-free fare to a new and larger location later this year, reports Daily Memphian.
Jacques Louise fans will soon be able to get their sugar fix at 585 S. Cooper Street. Customers concerned about missing the bakery’s treats as the move occurs needn’t worry; co-owner Savannah Kenney generously made some time to fill What Now Memphis in on details of the relocation-and to assure regulars and future patrons alike that they will not have to go too long without a sweet escape. She states: “Our current Overton Square location will stay open until the new space is ready with hopefully very minimal down time while we transition all our equipment to the new space.”
Demand exceeding Jacques Louise’s space to fulfill it is certainly a good problem to have-one that requires action, regardless. Kenney explains that the move is the solution: “Our current location has a very tiny kitchen and it has been a great first retail location but we quickly outgrew the kitchen space. We do a lot of wholesale production for several businesses in town, including but not limited to supplying City Silo with gluten free breads for their menu, and we simply needed a larger space to meet the growing needs.”
Jacques Louise’s new home allows the bakery to maintain its current fanbase while potentially drawing in new regulars. Kenney says: “When we found out the Cooper space was available we jumped on the chance to expand the business while still staying in Midtown and getting more visibility being on Cooper.”
Kenney and the Jacques Louise team plan to have the new location up and running by late-to-mid summer. The bakery’s new home promises to bring the hottest season to a delicious close and will launch an exciting new chapter for the concept. Kenney offers this eloquent summation: “The new space will allow us to increase our production for our walk-in clients, our pre-orders/custom orders, our wholesale partners, and hopefully down the road we can add shipping. We will be able to add more items to our menu with the new location and we plan to start having events that help the gluten free community.”
