Japan House restaurant, owned by Phong Cao, is currently in the works at 4279 Elvis Presley Blvd. and likely to open this year.

Restaurant plans are under way for a complete renovation of the 3,200-square-feet building located in the Elvis Presley Boulevard Shopping Center near Muggin Coffeehouse, Red Hook Express Cajun Seafood Restaurant, and more.

Site plans currently under review by Memphis and Shelby County Planning and Development include dining for 50, a sushi bar, and a kitchen fully stocked with a sandwich unit, deep fryer, griddle, four woks and a rice cooker.

Whitehaven, primarily known for Graceland, the former home of Elvis Presley, is a growing community working toward revitalizing its businesses, expanding housing, and creating more opportunities for residents.

Traditional Japanese restaurant menu offerings include tempura, miso soup, sushi, sashimi, noodles and rice.
