A Memphis chef is getting ready to breathe new life into a vacant Broad Avenue Arts District storefront. After closing its Oak Court Mall location, Jay’s Catering is preparing to open in the former home of Non-Vintage Wine Bar, reports Daily Memphian.
Jay’s Catering, owned and operated by Chef Jerold ‘Jay’ Money, is bringing its delectable cuisine to 2617 Broad Avenue. The restaurant has a certificate of occupancy under review by the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development as of February 18. The paperwork, which describes the eatery as a “Restaurant with sale of alcoholic beverages, Brew Pub” shows that Jay’s Catering will occupy a 2,100 square foot space.
A precise opening date is not yet publicly available for Jay’s Catering’s new home, however Memphis diners won’t have to wait too long to enjoy a meal at the restaurant’s new location; it is projected to open at some point before the end of March.
Jay’s Catering burst onto the Memphis dining scene in 2023 and closed its Oak Court location this January. Locals are sure to welcome a new opportunity to enjoy Jay’s seafood, wings, and tenders once the Broad Avenue site opens.
