Jersey Mike’s Subs is expanding its footprint in Tennessee, with its newest location set to open in the Memphis area.

The sub shop will open at 750 N. Germantown Parkway in Cordova and will be operated by franchise owner Bret Dunnaway.

Dunnaway told What Now Memphis that Jersey Mike’s routinely partners with a local charity when opening a new store — and this location is no exception.

“It’s Saving Lost Kids,” Dunnaway said. “We’ll pass out 7,000 free sub cards and in those sub cards, for every one of them that they bring in, they donate $2 and that $2 goes to the charity.”

Jersey Mike’s got its start in 1956 as a family-run submarine sandwich shop on the boardwalk of the Jersey Shore. In 1975, 17-year-old Peter Cancro, who worked at the original Mike’s, bought the business with a loan from his football coach after learning the owner planned to sell. Cancro remains the company’s CEO today, overseeing more than 3,000 locations nationwide.

“Our secret to longevity has been making sure everything is always high quality. Our meats and cheeses are all top-quality premium brands. Our bread is fresh baked each day on the premises. And, of course everything’s prepared right in front of you,” the company’s website reads.

As of May 2025, Tennessee is home to 65 Jersey Mike’s locations, with the Cordova shop adding to the growing list.

The new store will open on June 18 and follow standard hours, open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Jersey Mike’s has a presence in cities across the state, including Nashville, Knoxville, Memphis, Chattanooga, Murfreesboro, Johnson City and Kingsport. Additional locations are listed as “coming soon” in Athens, Collierville and Chattanooga.
