The impact of a truly great restaurant transcends the limits of its building; quality food enjoyed in a good atmosphere can help shape a neighborhood. Luckily for The Standard Germantown, a mixed-use development currently underway, a pair of veteran restauranters are bringing what promises to be an extraordinary dining experience to the table. Chefs Andy Ticer and Michael Hudman will be opening Josephine Estelle as a part of the development later this year, reports Commercial Appeal.
The restaurant will be occupying a newly built two-story building located at 6695 Poplar Avenue. The space should allow Ticer and Hudman ample room to greet and serve guests; the first floor will provide 6,123 square feet while the second spans 4,404 square feet. Permits filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development state that the eatery will be able to serve up to 154 customers at a time.
Construction is well underway on Josephine Estelle’s new home; Andy Ticer confirmed to What Now Memphis that he and Hudman are hoping for a mid-to-late October opening.
The Germantown Josephine Estelle will be the second iteration of the restaurant (which takes its name from the pair’s respective daughters). Ticer and Hudman had operated a Josephine Estelle in New Orleans, however Hudman previously told The Daily Memphian that the new location will not be a duplicate of the original, saying: “The menu will be a little more Americanized, with dishes like chicken parmesan and lasagna.”
