Marty Mathews plans to relocate one of his 26 Little Caesars shops to 4471 Summer Ave. in East Memphis and open before the end of April.

The restaurant was previously located at Summer Ave. and Waring Rd. Mathews has owned the property at 4471 Summer Ave. for the past 10 years and was leasing it to American Deli. When the lease was up, he chose to tear down the old building and rebuild with a clean, modern look. An additional three bays in the building will be available for rent.

Mathews has a habit of buying up properties and refurbishing them, often with no specific plan in mind other than to find dependable lessees. In the past, he has taken on unexpected historic restorations and renovations of the vast majority of a 40,000-square-feet retail center.

Fresh on the Little Caesars menu is the Fanceroni Pepperoni, topped with more than 100 Old World Pepperonis. Other favorites include Detroit-Style Deep Dish, Pretzel Crust with Cheese or Pizza Sauce, Extramostbestest featuring extra cheese, and of course, Crazy Bread.

Little Caesars was founded in 1959 by Mike and Marian Ilitch in Garden City, Michigan. There are now more than 5,000 locations in 27 countries and territories worldwide.

The pizza chain gives back through its Love Kitchen, traveling throughout the U.S. to provide relief to those in need, and has been awarded two President’s Volunteer Action Awards and a Presidential Citation.
