Local restaurateurs Ed and Brittany Cabigao have big plans this summer, getting ready to open new locations of The Liquor Store and SOB.

First, the couple will open a second location of their brunch concept, The Liquor Store, in East Memphis at 669 S. Mendenhall Rd., according to Commercial Appeal. The Liquor Store will replace Tenero Cafe & Butcher in June 2023. Original owners Lisa and Luis Toro sold the business to SOB Hospitality at the beginning of the year. Customers can expect the same look and menu as the original, except it will be larger and feature a “mini coffee shop” in the space of the former business’ butcher shop.

This will be the couple’s second restaurant in the Williamsburg Village shopping center, following their recent acquisition of The Hen House Wine Bar in April. Since The Liquor Store is focused on breakfast and brunch, the group plans to change The Hen House to a dinner-only concept.

“Since we will be open only for breakfast and lunch at The Liquor Store, and The Hen House will transition to dinner only — we think that parking won’t be an issue,” Ed Cabigao tells Commercial Appeal. “Think of the two like one big restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.”

Following this opening, the Cabigaos will open a third location of SOB in Collierville in the Schilling Farms development at Poplar Avenue and Schilling Boulevard, according to Commercial Appeal. The 4,000-square-foot restaurant will be slightly smaller than the original downtown location but will feature an outdoor patio. SOB Solliercille is expected to open in July 2023.

“A lot of old regulars Downtown now have families in Collierville, so opening in this part of town seems right to us,” Cabigao says. “The area is growing, and we are excited to be a part of it.”
