A local Mexican restaurant chain is expanding to Arlington.

On Monday, July 15, 2024, the Arlington Planning Commission unanimously approved a site plan for a new Margaritas Mexican Grill & Bar restaurant on the western side of Airline Rd, just north of the intersection with Milton Wilson Blvd.

Town Attorney Gerald Lawson mentioned that regulations require Margaritas to be at least 500 feet from any primary buildings, as the restaurant will serve alcohol. The 7,180-square-foot building will sit on a 1.699-acre parcel of land.

Owner Jose Flores operates several Margaritas restaurants in Greater Memphis, including locations in downtown, Cordova, West Memphis, and an upcoming site in Lakeland. Flores also owns the recently opened Sake vs. Tequila, a Japanese Mexican fusion restaurant on Elvis Presley Blvd.

Margaritas Mexican Grill & Bar offers a variety of classic Mexican dishes, including tacos, burritos, and chimichangas, along with its namesake margaritas.
