2026 is already shaping up to be a big year for the Mississippi culinary scene, thanks in part to a restaurant with an unimpeachable reputation and ardent fanbase. Marshall Steakhouse, a certified hit of the Memphis-area dining world, is opening a new location in Oxford next year, reports Daily Memphian.

The precise location of Marshall’s new home remains a bit of a mystery, however in a social media post announcing the new location, ownership stated that it will be an 18,000 square foot building located next to MTrade Park. The steakhouse is on track to open in March of 2026.

Fans of the restaurant’s Holly Springs location-and the concept’s capable, involved, and friendly owner Randall Swaney-have doubtless been concerned about the fate of the esteemed establishment. That particular question has been resolved, at least to a certain extent. Swaney is selling Marshall, but assures customers there’s no cause for alarm-he will be ensuring that ownership passes into capable hands. “You don’t take a number one steakhouse and turn it into a chicken restaurant.” he says. “I just tell (customers) it’ll be fine,”

Indeed, Marshall has an absolutely pristine reputation among critics as well as diners. Southern Living named the eatery number 2 on its list of the 31 most legendary steakhouses earlier this year. The restaurant would be an incredible investment for anyone “who will promise to continue to service 5-star meals and provide excellent customer service”, as Swaney states.

Marshall Steakhouse, a true labor of love from Swaney, opened in 2016. The tables in the Holly Springs location are handmade, an indicator of the restaurant’s ground-up commitment to quality. The menu offers everything customers could expect from a steakhouse and so much more. Guests can look forward to favorites like grain fed USDA prime beef and pork chops, alongside fried oysters, shrimps and grits, and a full Italian menu on Monday and Tuesday nights.
