A local juice bar is preparing to open the doors to its new space.
The Juice Joint, now located at Crosstown Concourse at 1350 Concourse Avenue, will open to customers on May 31, 2025, at 10 a.m. To celebrate, the first 100 customers will receive exclusive discount cards and a chance to win free juice or smoothies every month for the rest of 2025.
The concept comes from Darious Robertson, who got inspiration for the idea during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
“During covid, there were so many documentaries released about food and how food affects our bodies and disease and whatnot,” he said. “I got lost in the rabbit hole of what herbs can do for the body, what fruits and vegetables can do for the body.”
He began juicing, making nutritious beverages for friends and family and bringing them to work.
“It grew into the idea of, ‘Maybe I should make a business out of this,'” he said. “Finally, last year happened and I got the space on Cooper Street.”
The Juice Joint opened at 999 S. Cooper Street in August 2024. The menu includes smoothies, cold-pressed juices and açaí bowls, aiming to promote health and wellness through a range of offerings free from preservatives and added sugars.
Robertson announced earlier this year that The Juice Joint would be relocating. The new location at Crosstown Concourse is in the space formerly occupied by the health food eatery Vibe Foods.
“There’s so much to do there and it started to make a lot of sense for me. I thought, ‘It’d be a nice space to be in,'” Robertson said of Crosstown Concourse.
The development is a 16-acre mixed-use campus and the largest adaptive-reuse initiative in Tennessee.
“We’re thrilled to welcome The Juice Joint to Crosstown,” Erin Shelton, Director of Marketing and Business Development at Crosstown Concourse, said in a statement. “Darious brings an inspiring vision for health and community, and we know visitors will be excited to have a new go-to spot for fresh, flavorful options.”
The new location of The Juice Joint will feature seven juices, as well as a juice of the month, plus eight smoothies and six to eight bowls. Expect some new additions to the menu, including overnight oats and protein balls. Robertson is excited to provide more protein-packed options, especially given The Juice Joint’s proximity to the Church Health YMCA.
He recommends that first-time visitors try the açaí bowls.
“Ours are a bit more flavorful than some of the other ones I’ve had,” he said. “A lot of people really enjoy that because of the flavor packed in there really well.”
The Juice Joint will be open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
“We’re looking forward to meeting everyone,” Robertson said. “It will be a grand time on the 31st.”
