Muggin Coffeehouse in Uptown has officially closed its doors, but exciting plans are in the works at the 606 N Main St space.

Alicia Dixon and Marquis White of Dixon-White Restaurant Group, who took over operations in August 2024, will rebrand the café and refresh the space with a new look.

The news was recently announced on social media with the following message: “As of today, December 31, 2024, Muggin Coffeehouse in Uptown will officially close its doors. It has been a pleasure serving this incredible community, and we deeply appreciate all the love and support you’ve shown us.”

Although details about the new concept remain under wraps, Dixon told The Daily Memphian that the upcoming venture will still center around coffee: “We’re excited about the changes that are coming in 2025 and looking forward to bringing something new to the coffee world,” she said.

In addition to their new project, Dixon-White operates the newly-opened Groovy Gratitude, which offers a sandwich-centric menu, as well as smoothies, smoothie bowls, salads, and juices.

“While this chapter is closing, we’re excited about what’s brewing for the future,” said Muggin Coffeehouse. “Stay tuned for updates on what’s next for coffee in Uptown—we can’t wait to share it with you soon!”
