A new restaurant is making its way to the Memphis dining scene, and it’s sure to make the mouths of local barbecue fans water. A brand-new concept called H & S BBQ Soul Food & More is working its way through the permitting process, preparing to feed hungry local foodies.

Memphis’s next barbecue obsession is setting up shop at 2495 Jackson Avenue. A certificate of occupancy granted by the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development shows that H & S BBQ is set to occupy a 1,763 square foot storefront, with an occupancy load of 60. The paperwork further states that-in addition to serving up delicious fare-the restaurant will sell alcoholic beverages.

H & S BBQ Soul Food & More is moving swiftly through the permitting process; the restaurant received its certificate of occupancy in late August and has been steadily attaining the necessary approvals for opening. While this does not provide us with a definitive opening timeline, it does suggest that diners may not have to wait much longer to sample the new concept’s cuisine.

Little information is available about the concept beyond its fundamental designation as a barbecue and soul food restaurant. Ownership has not yet responded to What Now Memphis’s request for further information, however we will provide additional details as they become available.
