Memphis coffee fanatics craving a fresh way to get their java fix have a new reason to be excited. A cafe called The Blossom Coffee has filed papers to open on Summer Avenue, though details about the concept remain elusive and sparse.

The Blossom will be blooming into a 4531 Summer Avenue storefront. The coffee shop currently has both a certificate of occupancy and a sign permit under review for the address with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development. Both were posted publicly on March 18, and while this does not provide a comprehensive opening timeline by any stretch of the imagination, it does suggest that progress is being made.

Precious little information is available about The Blossom Coffee. The certificate of occupancy does confirm that-as the name suggests-the concept will be a coffee shop. Whether that will translate into the cafe experience many have come to expect, complete with myriad java-based drinks and pastries, remains to be seen.

The Blossom does not yet have a digital footprint. What Now Memphis has reached out to ownership and will update readers as details become available.
