The fast-casual dining scene currently belongs to chicken. Poultry seems to be on everyone’s minds, and Memphis locals will soon have a new concept to ensure it fills their stomachs. Birdy’s Chicken has filed permits to open a location in Cordova.

The new concept will be bringing fried chicken to 1204 North Houston Levee Road. Very little information is currently available about the restaurant beyond its name and its cuisine. It is being spearheaded by local entrepreneur Ahmed Abdullah. Website Bizapedia shows that Birdy’s Chicken filed as a Tennessee domestic for-profit corporation with the Tennessee State Department on July 29 of this year. The eatery filed for its Certificate of Occupancy from the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development on August 7, suggesting the restaurant is still in its early phases. What Now Memphis has reached out for further details and will update readers as information becomes available.
