In August, What Now Memphis reported that IBIS Cocktail Bar in downtown Memphis had temporarily closed for repairs and renovations. However, the establishment has since quietly shut its doors for good, making way for a new venue.

Ramses Lounge and Cigar Emporium is set to move into the 314 S Main St space, as indicated by recent permits filed with the city. The new establishment will feature a restaurant and lounge on the ground floor, along with a cigar emporium upstairs.

Owner Andrew Ramsey confirmed this news with What Now Memphis. He expressed excitement about the project but mentioned that he would share more details in a couple of weeks when they are further along in their plans.

The permits, however, reveal that Ramses will serve as “a restaurant and lounge for cigar smokers to unwind and mingle with like-minded professionals.”

Stay tuned for updates in a couple of weeks—including menu details and the projected opening date—as Ramses Lounge and Cigar Emporium takes shape in downtown Memphis.
