A new fast-casual restaurant is being planned for North Memphis.

Jackson Grill is looking to open at 1420 Jackson Ave, according to recently filed city permits. The eatery would take over the 3,105-square-foot space formerly occupied by The Kitchen Restaurant, which recently relocated to Raleigh.

Owner Akram Alkabsh told What Now Memphis that while the project is still awaiting necessary approvals, he’s optimistic about his vision for the space.

His son, a seasoned veteran of the restaurant industry, will be instrumental in shaping the concept and overseeing operations. Although still in development, the menu is expected to feature a variety of casual eats, including hamburgers, chicken, and fish.

Alkabsh hopes to open Jackson Grill before May 2025, pending permits.
