The somewhat unexpected marriage of golf and bars has been steadily gaining heat in the dining and recreation world. Guests have proven very receptive to the idea of bending an elbow before or after teeing off, and more and more companies are catering to that desire. Silo Square will soon be getting its own taste of this phenomenon when Pars and Pints-a new concept from local husband-and-wife team Aaron and Sarah Rock-opens later this winter, reports Commercial Appeal.

The hybrid bar and golf simulator will be bringing the best of Irish pubs and tee times to 2842 May Boulevard, Suite #105. The 2,100 square foot storefront will have three cutting-edge golf simulators alongside large screen tvs for those who prefer to watch sports instead of playing them.

Co-owner (and Dublin native) Aaron Rock told the DeSoto Times Tribune that he and his wife and partner are excited to be bringing the concept to their own backyard, saying: “I live across the street. So my address is the same street name, just with a different number. Silo Square is just such a great place. There are so many other great businesses and owners there. And they do so many great events. I have a young son who is three-and-a-half and they had a movie night where they showed “Cars.” They held a 5K with our church. It’s just a great community.”

Pars and Pints will be making sure no guest leaves hungry. Speaking of the restaurant’s menu, Rock states that it “…is still in the works, but we will be doing some appetizers, flat bread, paninis, sandwiches and chips. It’s going to be a full menu, but it’s not going to be anything too heavy.”

A precise opening date is not yet available for Pars and Pints, however the Rocks are nearing the finish line. Construction is well underway and Rock says he is anticipating a mid-December or early January debut, giving locals something to look forward to in the coming winter months.
