Led by customer demand for better nutrition and superior taste, the fast-casual dining scene has been enjoying an undeniable shift towards healthier cuisine. Multiple concepts have popped up to meet this demand, and Playa Bowls has been among the names leading the charge. The New Jersey based chain has been winning over foodies across the country-and Memphis is no exception. Fortunately for local fans, the brand’s next location is on its way-and it’s making powerful strides through the permitting process.

Playa Bowls third and newest location will be opening at 732 Madison Avenue. According to paperwork filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development, the storefront will allow Playa Bowls 1,004 square feet in which to serve customers. The occupancy load suggests the space will be able to accommodate up to 15 customers.

This new location will be Playa Bowls’ third Memphis storefront, joining shops in East Memphis and Arlington. It is not yet clear when, precisely, the eatery will be opening, however an onslaught of recent permits suggests it’s on its way. What Now Memphis will update readers as more information becomes available, including an opening timeline.

Playa Bowls has been helping redefine the fast-casual scene since its debut in 2015. The brand quickly resonated with customers, thanks to its commitment to sustainability and community. As the website explains: “We serve our communities the highest quality, innovative products to support healthier lifestyles and inspire a world of fun, excitement and togetherness.“

Future customers can look forward to a menu defined by: “Using the freshest, highest quality ingredients, we serve healthy, delicious açaí, pitaya, coconut bowls and smoothies”, featuring bowls, smoothies, and juices.
