A Mississippi restaurant and bar is in the process of expanding to downtown Memphis.
Cheers Restaurant & Bar in Horn Lake is set to open soon in the area, confirmed owner Annie Jackson. Jackson told What Now Memphis that the deal is expected to be finalized next week, so she’s holding off on revealing further details until the ink is dry.
The news was first shared by partner Henry Epps on Facebook. “Downtown Memphis, prepare yourselves because Cheers II is coming soon to Downtown Memphis, and we aren’t coming to play with you,” he wrote.
Though the precise location remains under wraps for now, Epps mentioned in a comment that the new restaurant will be “very close” to Beale Street and South Main.
He also teased that the upcoming spot will offer the same southern-style dishes that have made the Horn Lake location a favorite, including ribs, smoked oxtail, spaghetti, catfish, gyros, cheeseburgers, salads, and other “select items.”
In addition to the signature comfort cuisine, Cheers is known for its specialty cocktails, ladies’ nights, hookah, and karaoke.
Keep an eye out for updates next week; Jackson has promised to share more details once everything is official.
