After recently closing, Flame Ramen Cordova has announced it is rebranding that location to become Petals of a Peony at 1250 N. Germantown Parkway, Site 105.

While Flame Ramen recently announced its newest location will be coming to South Second Street in September of this year, the company will first focus on rebranding its original second location to a new restaurant altogether. Operations Manager Will Weng tells What Now Memphis he expects to open Petals of a Peony in mid-to-late August 2023. Unlike Flame Ramen, which strictly focuses on its namesake dish, the new restaurant will focus on traditional Chinese fare, according to the Daily Memphian.

The expansion of Flame Ramen and rebranding of its existing site is a part of the company’s overall demographic focus moving forward. Flame Ramen hopes to focus on the 18- to 45-year-old young professional demographic. When the new Downtown location opens, it will help alleviate the demand created at the site on Union Avenue. Petals of a Peony, on the other hand, will focus more on the Asian community that is more prominent in the Cordova area.

While exact details regarding the new menu have yet to be revealed, customers can expect traditional Chinese dishes, such as chow mein, Peking duck, fried rice, and other Asian staples. On top of the large Asian community, the new restaurant will get plenty of foot traffic from being situated in a busy shopping center. The only competition Ptels of a Peony will have is from Pacific Fusion in the adjacent strip mall.
