The Mid-South will soon welcome its very first Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers restaurant.

Southaven’s Planning Commission yesterday approved the proposal for the fast-casual eatery at 357 Goodman Rd West. It will take over the former O’Charley’s space, near Interstate 55 and the Southaven Walmart.

Raising Cane’s boasts over 700 restaurants nationwide, but this will be the first location in the Greater Memphis area. Founded in 1996, the Baton Rouge-based chicken chain is known for its hand-battered marinated chicken fingers, Texas toast, crinkle-cut fries, and signature dipping sauce.

The city’s Board of Aldermen still needs to grant final approval before construction can begin later this year. If all goes according to plan, the Raising Cane’s Southaven site is expected to open in the second quarter of 2025.
