Chicken fanatics know that the beloved poultry has had many partners over the years. A versatile bird indeed, chicken has been paired with waffles, fries, donuts, and many other companions. The fast-casual staple’s next great partnership is just over the horizon for Memphis diners; Rise Southern Biscuits and Righteous Chicken has set a grand opening date for its East Memphis location, and it’s coming soon.

Franchisee Spencer Burgon confirmed to What Now Memphis that the memorably-named restaurant will be holding a soft opening on Sunday September 28 with the grand opening to follow on Saturday, October 11. Memphis residents eager to sink their teeth into the concept’s signature interpretations of Southern breakfast and lunch will be able to stop in at 5101 Sanderlin Avenue #104 to sample one of the titular dishes or savor a side of cheddar tots.

Future regulars might understandably be wondering what, precisely, makes the chicken so righteous. Fortunately the company website is more than equipped to answer that question. It explains: “It’s tenderized, brined in buttermilk, fried to golden-brown perfection and then served on a biscuit, bun or as fingers with your choice of toppings and sauces.”

Rise is certain to attract a large fanbase; the restaurant will appeal to both foodies and more casual chicken fans, thanks to its commitment to crafting next-level fare. The website explains: “we pride ourselves in going above and beyond to give you the best biscuit experience without shortcuts or compromises. This begins with sourcing superior ingredients from trusted farmers and producers and extends through serving our customers with unsurpassed care and accountability. In all things, Rise operates on a higher level and we look forward to serving you soon.”
