Memphis diners, get ready for the ascent of a new favorite fast-casual eatery. Rise Southern Biscuits & Righteous Chicken is opening its second regional location, reports the Memphis Business Journal.
The auspiciously named concept will be opening at 5101 Sanderlin Avenue, in the space that previously housed City Silo. The new Rise location will be run by franchisee Food for the People, with particular care and emphasis from partner LJ McDurmon, who is also VP at Traditional Construction Co..
Rise benefits from having a party who is invested in both the construction and operation of the restaurant; McDurmon states: “A project, for me, is something that you do — there’s a start, there’s an end. That’s what I really like about the restaurants. It’s not a project. There’s a start, but there’s not an end. It’s perpetual. Rather than putting my hard work into someone else’s project that belongs to them at the end of the day, I get to run with this forever.”
While an opening timeline is not presently available for Rise’s second Memphis location, management does anticipate greeting guests at some point this year. The company website currently states that the storefront will be open in early summer.
Founded in North Carolina in 2012, Rise currently has 26 locations open, spurred by its commitment to delicious cuisine. The website explains: “At Rise, we pride ourselves in going above and beyond to give you the best biscuit experience without shortcuts or compromises. This begins with sourcing superior ingredients from trusted farmers and producers and extends through serving our customers with unsurpassed care and accountability. In all things, Rise operates on a higher level and we look forward to serving you soon.”
