A few months ago, What Now Memphis reported that an Oxford-based blues venue, restaurant, and bar would be expanding to East Memphis. Now, Rooster’s Blue’s House is planning a second local location.

With the 525 S Highland St venue gearing up to debut next week, owner Scott Michael is ready to expand to downtown Memphis. While a specific site hasn’t been selected yet, he told What Now Memphis he’s been scouting spots on Beale St.

Located in the heart of downtown Oxford, Mississippi, the original Rooster’s is known for its live blues music and balcony bar. The menu features a range of Southern classics, including burgers, po’boys, shrimp and grits, and ribs, complemented by blues-inspired and classic cocktails.

Don’t miss Rooster’s Blues House grand opening on January 19, and keep an eye out for updates as the second Memphis location begins to take shape.
